Welcome to Lekkerleef Wild Stoet

We pride ourselves in the breeding of top quality disease free (over the past 15 years not even a single suspect case) cape buffalo, focussing not only on horn width (RW), but also on genetic diversity through DNA profiling (Unistel), reproduction, fertility, phenotypic features, and disease resistance.

Furthermore, the selection criteria applied on breeding bulls include; a minimum SCI measurement of 127” (increasing annually), semen quality and scrotum size. The results of these practices are evident in the herds with breading cows averaging a horn spread of 31.5 inches and male progeny revealing exceptional potential.

In accomplishing the breeding of these top animals, comprehensive record keeping of the herd is of essential importance reflecting the age, parenting, horn growth (RW + SCI), inter-calving period of every single individual.

Buyers of animals are provided with a detailed animal profile, together with valuable advice on buffalo farming gained over the past 15 years.
